and would like any ideas on how to advertise my business with very little money.
I have had business cards made and put postcards in Post Offices. Is it legal to pin a poster advertising my small business on telegraph poles?
Thank you.
I forgot to add that I have already put up a poster in a couple of vet surgeries.
I am not a resident of the UK, but I think you are onto a fantastic idea. The worse part about taking the dog down to the pet groomer is getting him/into the car and smelling up your vehicle. Just the idea that you are willing to go to one’s home and groom the client’s animal is fantastic.
Since you are a mobile business, I’d certainly suggest attaching a magnetic sign to your vehicle. That way, wherever you go, you will be promoting your business. You might want to make a point of parking your vehicle near various local dog walking parks.
You might also consider making a vest or a sandwich board that you could wear with the name of your business imprinted on it. That way, whenever you walk your own dog or show up at a client’s home, people will see your company name. You could do the same thing on a baseball cap. What I am basically suggesting is that you become a walking billboard – or poster, as I believe you Brits call them – for your business.
I would also suggest that you always carry a supply of business cards with you as you walk about promoting your service. Undoubtedly, someone will see you and ask how to get a hold of you.
You might also see if there are other businesses that will let you post flyers for your service: pet stores, kennels – things of that ilk.
Good luck with your business!
Try advertising at your nearest kennel and pet food shop.
It is not allowed to pin advertising on telegraph poles some council they would even fine you.
Try your local yellow pages for the addresses mention above.
